Cleveland Clinic Experience: A Nightmare
Have you ever been to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF, or just plain Cleveland Clinic)? If so, chances are you have been harassed by them in one way or the other. Go to the Better(!) Business Bureau website and you will find numerous complaints against them. Remember that it is just a tiny fraction of the people harassed by Cleveland Clinic that would visit the BBB website and a tiny fraction of those would go to the length of actually making a formal complaint. It is another thing that you will be lead to believe that all those complaints on BBB website have been ‘closed’. Dig a little deeper, and you will find the truth about those ‘closure’s!
[There are a lot more complaints against them I found online. Visit the review on Yelp and you can see a tiny link for ‘Filtered’ reviews. May be Yelp did not want to show a low rating for CCF (don’t wonder why) and suppressed most of the bad ratings. Some more ‘filtered’ reviews are here]
I am taking the information from BBB here because I myself have sent a complaint to them, and I know from experience how they handle the complaint, and how CCF has maintained its A+ rating on BBB! The whole thing just disgusts me.
Wonder why such a huge percentage of the complaints against CCF are billing-related? Don’t wonder. Please read a few of them and you will understand. Cleveland Clinic would do the following to take money out of your pocket (and this is from my own experience and from the experience of a lot of other people I have talked with). Even my insurance agent told me that she had been harassed and over-charged in this fashion.
- They send you a wrong bill, that will have a very high amount due. You may just pay it off without verifying.
- If you decide to review the bill and talk to them (good luck waiting for the customer representative for at least one hour, who might or might not listen to you properly), they make a ‘promise’ to rectify the mistake.
- They may send you another wrong bill, add a line that your account would be sent to collections if you do not pay.
- If you get scared by the ‘collections’ actions and pay up, it is fine.
- If you decide to talk with them again (good luck again!), you will again hear some ‘promise’, and pay up the entire amount due till that date.
- The next bill comes with a line that your account has been sent to collections, and that you have not paid anything to them ever!
- Meanwhile, you will start getting annoying calls every day from some recovery service.
- Cleveland Clinic would sometimes say that they have received your payment, and sometimes would deny receiving any. The recovery service would continue pestering you saying that they have not received “stop harassment” signal from the CCF. You are in a royal soup!
- Oh, this is just the beginning. The real circus starts when CCF would charge a lot more from your credit card than what you would approve (and receive a receipt for). In other words, they will steal your money. If you could find that out, good luck talking to their rude customer service people after waiting on line for more than an hour!
- Is stealing from your credit card account bad? How about charging you for the SAME service multiple times? That’s a special act in the circus by CCF! Or, may be, it’s a course on reviewing bills offered by CCF. By the end of it all, if there is an end at all, you will learn how to review each item on a medical bill.
- You will never know for sure how much you owe them! If you call the automated service, you will hear some amount. If you go to the QuickPay online system, you may see something different. And, the paper statements may have some altogether different figure!
- You make a payment on phone, and after a few weeks you call them and tell them that you have already made a payment, they may flatly deny receiving any payments from you
- The customer service people of CCF are THE WORST I have ever come across. Like any average person in the USA, I have to make numerous calls to customer service department of various companys. But I have never been so disgusted and frustrated as I was almost after each time I talked with the Cleveland Clinic customer service department.
- The Ombudsman department is nothing but a joke. Don’t even bother disturbing them. Talk with your paper weight, and you will have a much better chance of getting your issues resolved. The most helpful thing I ever got from them was, “it was not our fault. It was a billing-system error.” Sure! the billing-system should be sent to jail, right?
The sunny side is, by the ‘end’ of it all, you may be suffering from high BP and other stress-related problems, and may get admitted to Cleveland Clinic again!
At some point of time, you would wish that you were dead, and Cleveland Clinic may just be the place to go to!
Avoid Cleveland Clinic at any cost. Avoid it like the plague!
Cleveland Clinic Customer Service and Cleveland Clinic Billing Help
- Call them any time other than between 7 am to 9 am on weekdays and an automated voice will tell you that the best time to call is between 7 am to 9 am on weekdays. If you call during that ‘best’ time, the automated voice will tell you that the ‘best’ time is some other time. Everyone I talked with have been frustrated by this trick.
- You might be told (more often than not you are not told) that the waiting time is, say, 8 minutes, and your call may not be attended to before a full hour has elapsed.
- The average wait time I have experienced is about 55 minutes to an hour. That, too, considering the fact I called at around 7:30 am most of the time.
- The customer service people of CCF are THE WORST I have ever come across. Like any average person in the USA, I have to make numerous calls to customer service department of various companys. But I have never been so disgusted and frustrated as I was almost after each time I talked with the Cleveland Clinic customer service department. They are outright rude, would cut you off in the middle and would not let you talk.
- If you can somehow explain your issue, you may get some promise to fix the issue. In my experience, and in the experience of the others I have spoken with, those issues have NEVER been fixed.
- They talk to you as if their billing system glitch is your fault, and it is your duty to reconcile all the statements and bills sent from them ever since you have had the first service at any CCF facility.
- You think you have paid off the entire amount due, and got a confirmation from the customer service department? Wait for one year! Out of nowhere a balance may appear on your account. Worse, it will be sent to a collections service without your knowledge!
Cleveland Clinic Billing Department
Please go to the BBB complaints page. See how many of the complaints are because CCF have, in a way, stolen their money. I have had the same experience. I had approved, say $600, as a payment to be taken from my credit card amount. After some time, I received a confirmation from the CCF for the same amount with a confirmation number. However, when I checked my credit card statement, CCF had actually taken $799.01 from my account! This is nothing but stealing and credit card fraud. They had all the time to detect it and apologize for it. But they did not.
This happened not just to me. The BBB complaints page show that numerous people have had the same experience. So CCF is well aware of this issue and still has done nothing about it. This makes one suspicious that this is deliberate! It is a shame that Cleveland Clinic, apparently one of the premier healthcare facilities in the USA, would stoop so low for a few extra dollars!
That was just a small part of what the billing department does. Another very common way of taking extra money from the customer is to bill multiple times for the same service performed. I had paid off my May balance in may and June balance in June. later, I found that almost all the items in the May statement had reappeared in June statement. I paid twice for the same thing. When called, the response was, “You have not made any payments in May, ………. Well, I see that you did make a payment, ………. it may be a system error, ………… you see the same items on your July statement and you will have to make the payment, ……….. I will send your account for review.” And that’s that. No remediation. No reimbursement. No apologies. No intention to fix the system.

Cleveland Clinic Ombudsman
It might be an understatement to say that the Cleveland Clinic Ombudsman is a joke. Don’t even bother disturbing them. Talk with your paper weight, and you will have a much better chance of getting your issues resolved. The most helpful thing I ever got from them was, “it was not our fault. It was a billing-system error.” Sure! the billing-system should be sent to jail, right?
It’s frustrating to see that someone holding such an important position as an Ombudsman is so callous and void of logic. It was a nightmare to get any point across to that person (mind that, the CCF customer res would get the point much quicker. It’s another thing that they wouldn’t help at all), and even if that person understood the issue, would again forget (deliberately?) in a few minutes. Sometimes that person would even try to explain the solution to an issue that is completely irrelevant.
Needles s to say that that person was rude and impatient, the type you might expect from Cleveland Clinic.
Avoid Cleveland Clinic At Any Cost
I have been harassed by their billing department for seven months now. I know of others who have also suffered like this. You may find more such people if you visit the BBB complaints page. Any person I have spoken with, that had to deal with Cleveland Clinic at some point in time, has been frustrated and disgusted with their billing department and the customer service. They feel cheated, they feel their money has been stolen by the clinic, and yet there has been no apology from CCF and neither has been any resolutions to the billing system issues.
Cleveland Clinic feels like a trap, a rip-off. Avoid at any cost.
The Role of Cleveland Better(?) Business Bureau
Where would someone go after getting harassed by a large company like the Cleveland Clinic? Better(?) Business Bureau, may be. And what do they do? See for yourself in the BBB complaints page for Cleveland Clinic. The same happened with me, too. After they tried to wear me out by asking for one document after another for a long time, when I took 10 days to make a comprehensive account of all the harassment, I found that they suddenly marked my case as ‘Closed’ with the reason that they determined that CCF has made “good faith effort” to solve the problem! Yeah, the proof of their good faith is all over the complaints page! And what about BBB? Wasn’t it my fault to believe in them, in the first place? The exact same thing has happened with so many other people who complained with BBB with hope for some justice. Better Business Bureau?! Spineless jokers.

I got injury at work and went to Cleveland Clinic Take Care Clinic. I thought I had pulled a muscle but I guess I might have been wrong. These retards prescribe me in non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. But if they would have read my medical history as far as medication allergies they would have known that I am allergic to NSAIDs and not to put me on a dose that was 600 mg I could barely stand up when I went to work and I passed out twice. Luckily I have a doctor at MetroHealth that has an extensive medical history on me and they told me not to go back to work and then on top of that I found out I was pregnant but Cleveland Clinic never took the time long enough to find out whether I was pregnant or not so they could have killed both me and my child

I received a bill today, May,19,2018, that was from the cleveland clinic, a bill that in March of 2018 I was told had been “written off” because of my poverty level, at the time I thanked them- 100% gone ,couldn’t believe it and I guess I shouldn’t have, $6,300 + is more than half of what I make a year! stressful-yes.

Cleveland clinic refused to give me appropriate antibiotics for an acute bacterial sinus infection. Slavish adherance to guidelines notwithstanding evidence that my infection did not responding to those antibiotics, but for decades did respond to antibiotics always previously prescribed. I suffered and missed work and important activites unnecessarily due to this.

Cleveland Clinic Pediatric Heart Transplant team is very dishonest and is not a number 1rated hospital. Records are edited by Dr B to support his very own curiosity. Dr b lacks bedside manor and him and his team have a total disrespect for life. It took years to see the truth behind all the lies and hidden agendas and by the time we realized it was to late 😦 That whole hospital is a cult. Using People of all ages for government research! The only thing you see is what they allow the Puplic to see. And Cleveland Clinic has the ability to fool the Puplic and cause harm and death and get paid to do it! Once your into the network good luck getting out. I have personally seen the death caused by pure laziness poor medication regime lack of truth and so on. I would like to know how is it legal for Hospitals and Doctors to withhold medical records from patients? And how is it legal to edit records? How is it legal to allow Doctors to play God? My story is too long to tell and I’m sick of telling it. The ombudsman work for the clinic enough said. They are a joke. If you have a true medical concern you need to contact the joint commission. You can also contact the attorney general depending on the problem. Above and beyond that document, document, document and always be your own advocate. I had a problem with the bariatric department, medical records and billing. I will never trust the clinic again.

The Cleveland Clinic is a nightmare and the so called Ombudsman office should be called the cover up office. I had an ablation there and Dresing was the surgeon. He supposedly is an electropsyiologist but they forget he had to be a cardiologist for at LEAST 3 years first and they missed a 90-95 percent blockage in a 23 year old circumflex artery. I was a walking heart attack waiting to happen and a local cardiologist in El Paso discovered the problem with the same tests Dresing had performed and since my doctor has NEVER received the results of the tests or the surgery you have to wonder what Dresing missed and of course Robin and Melissa lied or made up nothing but excuses until 8-9 months had gone by and since I was in El Paso I could bot find a lawyer and it was not only the ablation. If I had listened to Dresing and went back for DRUG LOADING I could have easily died.
The second and maybe worse problem was that a Black? Jerked out a Foley catheter without deflating the balloon and the White nurse and 2 other women said NOTHING but the cover up office sent me letters and stated over the phone that The Cleveland Clinic had followed procedures which of course is a lie and although I informed the J2 floor manager all she did was have me urinate? No one checked me before or after I was discharged and within 2 weeks of returning to El Paso I urinated blood and blood clots went to the ER and had my bladder irrigated and it was stretched and full of blood.
I had a severe UTI my white cell count was 180 and I was put on a strong anti biotic 2000 mg per day which killed all the good and bad bacteria in my body and I ended up with IBS which I still suffer from. Think hard and long about going to the Cleveland Clinic in my mind butcher shop and big house of horrors before you go. The only way to take care of these cases is to find a firm that will file a class action law suit

I was told by a nurse manager, because their psch dr.. is an expert: , when my son threatened to jump off a bridge they would discharge him anyway. All because ” the expert said, he was malingering” . I asked what if he does? Is their expert also a mind reader. She then preceded to repeat her previous statement. Wow what compassion.

One time I decided to attend this healthy food cooking class event only to be led on a wild goose chase. They never re imbursed me for the mix up and basically left it as being my fault even though they made the mistake of sending people to the wrong location for the event.
Also the parking situation is a challenge. They have robots in place of humans working in there at a certain location.
One time when I was trying to make an appointment, if I could pay upfront for the service, they wanted an insurance card instead. While I understand they are trying to claim they invented natural treatments, it’s the furthest thing from the truth. I appreciate the one doctor who is trying to promote health through nutrition, however, the CCF is tripping if they think they are the ones who invented Integrative medicine when years ago they ostracized the Integrative Medicine community:

Cleveland Clinic killed my dad ….here I am coming to terms with the harsh reality that I’d put my trust and faith in this hospital only to realize that quicker than a stinging slap in the face the harsh reality of it, while I desperately wanted me dad to live and put my trust in the knowledge the medical staff had as I literally would have to google their words at night to deciphevthe true meaning of what they were saying and in my desperation…. thinking they knew more than me by a landslide… watched them kill him and then deal with the fake “I’m so sorry” aftermath. Blaming it on the fact my dad had a suppressed immune system… never once even in the slightest, acknowledging that they never fully answered my questions relating to his transplant.
Yes’.. I wanted my dad to live… yes! I’d have cut off my left arm to give him extended years of life… did Cleveland want the same outcome? I definitely, whole heartedly think they used him as a homework assignment, caring nothing at all, whether he lived or died.

I don’t care whether these facts are published or not. Dr. Thomas Maseryck Sr. Neuroradiologist at CCF is not a man only by his first name. He performed brain aneurysm surgeries on me in November of 2006 and has deliberately gone out of his way not to send me the appropriate identification (med alert) ID jewelry in order for any future medical professional to have immediate acknowledgement of my condition. Plus, I the meaningless patient never authorized Dr. Maseryck to have an intern/resident to perform my brain aneurysm surgeries. In my medical records it clearly states that Dr Maseryck stood by and observed the rookie conducting the surgery. On top of that I made the worst mistake in my life and married this thing in Elyria Ohio who constantly beat me up. Even knowing my condition his brutality continued after my surgery. When I wanted to get away and asked Dr. Maseryck to talk to my attorney he became enraged and defiant. His RN secretary, I believe her name is Cathy told me that he will not perform the surgery if I got the Dr involved. What is even more deplorable is that Dr Maseryck said that I would not DIE from these brain aneurysms. This ungodly excuse was used so the cowardly Dr would get out of his duty’s. The hypocratic oath means, TO DO NO HARM!!! No more, no less!! The Primary care DR’s at the Wellness Center in Fairlawn Ohio at 4125 Medina Rd are beyond pathetic. Let’s not forget the Orthopedic DR’s as well. I learned from my previous workers compensation attorneys that my DR’s did not incorporate all information that I personally gave them. It’s all designed to protect there fragile ASS. I will not apologize for using terms that best describes them. Ombudsman is a complete waste of money for the patients. The people, primarily composed of females have an extreme problem in talking to patients. We are treated like we’re in a NAZI DEATH CAMP!! AUSHWITZ to be exact!! Medical Science in the United States is a complete joke. We are not even in the top ten in the world. American DR’s are beyond greedy and are de-humanizing the industry. I lost my case for worker’s compensation because of Dr. Esterle, Dr. Modlo of Cleveland Clinic and the other cowardly Dr in his fragile private practice, Dr. Dhruv Shah of Action spine and pain. When anyone is brutally honest about these Drs one may use colorful medaphors to express how they feel that is the only focus on the situation (s). Since the patient is the only one held accountable for anything then why do we need these inept so called professionals. Here is a message for the BITCH who is in charge of ombudsman in Akron Ohio area, “is being a compulsive ass your primary goal in life or is it being an asshole”!!?? Honey you were either born that way or simply enjoy it!! What kind of a person are you that degrades patients when they come to you for help? Ah, just like the Drs at Cleveland Clinic!!

Cleveland Clinic (Ohio) is nothing but a nightmare and corrupt organization of money hungry murders. I’ve been suffering horribly bc they CHOSE to withhold several serious illnesses from me (cancer), and performed the WRONG surgery. Tumors started showing on CT scans over 5 years ago. NOBODY told me!!!! I had over 25 CT scans for my Crohn’s disease. The tumors initially started on my kidneys, but started spreading and became extremely suspicious and dangerous. Radiologist recommend biopsies and close monitoring for weight loss, and more. I kept seeking care at ER’s bc I felt horrible and could hardly function. It wasn’t my typical Crohn’s symptoms.
Cleveland, along with local hospitals, (Warren/Youngstown) all owned by the murderous Mercy Health ALL lied to me. They told me everything was mental, or related to my Crohn’s. In 2017 I was hospitalized at Cleveland Clinic due to severe malnorishment and unbearable pain, I had another bowel obstruction. I explained in depth that I needed a temporary ileostomy (colostomy bag) at the time of the bowel resection due to my bowels perforating after several previous bowel surgeries. It happened there in 2011. Three days after a planned resection my bowels completely separated where they had removed the diseased portion. They had to do emergency surgery and almost died. I wasn’t warned prior that I would probably end up with a colostomy bag. The emergency surgery was scary enough, then to not prepare someone for a colostomy bag is terrible. I totally freaked out after. The stress they’ve unnecessarily caused has been unbearable That was another nightmare in itself…nothing but infections and incompetent doctors. In 2017 I had to be hospitalized for several weeks before the bowel resection to get TPN and IV’s. I kept reiterating how important the colostomy bag was due to Intestine weakness and 2 previous perforations following bowel surgery. Shouldn’t they be tge doctors, not me, ugh!! The ostomy nurses came and tattooed me for the bag. I wake up from surgery literally screaming in pain. Pain management doesn’t exist in that hell hole. And THE IDIOTS DID THE BOWEL RESECTION, BUT DID NOT DO THE COLOSTOMY!!!! I knew this pain was beyond abnormal. They refused more pain meds and forced me to get a epidural due to my heart rate and BP going dangerously high, my body was in shock. My bowels were already perforating. When demanding to know why the proper surgery was performed, I was told, “the surgeon didn’t feel it was necessary.” I continued to suffer, started sweating, fever, etc. They kicked me out of the hospital in extremely unstable condition…all while lying saying my tests were completely normal. That night I went septic, temp of 105° and had unbearable pain. Local hospitals said i needed emergency surgery immediately. They shipped me back against my wishes. Cleveland denied I had a perforation, sepsis, or anything. Instead of doing emergency surgery they let me suffer. A JP drain was placed in my abdomen AFTER they extracted over 40 cc’s of feces from my abdomen. The drain continued to collect stool. The jerks sent me home like that and said I’d be FINE!!!! I wasn’t, it was barbaric torture. They left me suffering with that huge drain hanging out of my abdomen for SEVEN months. And IV antibiotics to treat the horrific bacterial infection from a hole in my Intestine i supoosedly didn’t have. The JP drain migrated through the hole in my Intestine, but they ignored it. Now looking at my records I can see that my results from the release date after my botched surgery were beyond abnormal. White count was almost 30 and a hematocrit so low I should’ve had a blood transfusion, among other stuff. Another surgeon at the hell hole repaired my bowels and gave me a colostomy 7 months later. In those 7 months I suffered unimaginable pain without pain management, multiple hospital stays, and procedures. I was lied to by all, and treated horrible. They ruined my career, and credit. They billed me for everything, even after the botched surgery. I could no longer function and I lost my life and happiness. My savings, 401k, everything is gone. Since I’m in the medical field I decided to look at the tests on mychart myself. I was horrified and shocked bc they are basically trying to kill me. I had to have a port placed and I’ve been on IV fluids since 2018. Any decent doctors I had quit, probably due to their murderous ways. Working in the veterinary field for 20 years I can tell you this place is extremely dirty and incompetent. I’d let a veterinarian do surgery before I let these fools open me up, again. Now I’m full of cancer and nobody will do a thing. I’ve lost 40 pounds, all muscle mass, have debilitating fatigue, and pain. They do tests, but never tell you about abnormal results. My Hickman catheter (home IV) wore out and developed a hole in May, that’s a emergency bc it can introduce bacteria into your body if not replaced quickly. The jerks didn’t care and forced me to wait WEEKS to get it replaced. Fairview replaced my port on the first attempt and it never worked properly, leaked, and hurt constantly. They made me wait several more weeks for a second replacement. While they took their sweet time I wasn’t getting proper dehydration from NOT being able to do my fluids at home. By the time I waited for a replacement at South Pointe hospital my IV was terribly infected. I begged to be admitted, and you could visibly see a infection, but it was ignored and they put a second port in anyway. I ended up with a infection so bad that they hospitalized me and pulled my port. I was treated horribly in the hospital. They refused to give me any home meds, one being a blood thinner, refused to address my tumors, or do anything. On the 3rd day I left against medical advice. Livid doesn’t describe the anger I felt. I was told I didn’t have a infection and my tests were normal, all lies. In addition to the tumors I also have right sided heart failure and liver fibrosis nobody told me about. My Intestinal rehab team signed off on my case and left me to die without fluids or help. Their exscuse, “your port was pulled, so we sign off.” Yeah, bc YOUR idiot doctors caused yet another infection!!!!! Now I’m in kidney failure due to my fluids being ripped away. My liver functions were very high during my recent hospital stay. My urine shows alarming infection, abnormal liver and kidney functions….all ignored. I have tired multiple times to get answers. My medical records show dates that I was supposedly at the clinic, but I wasn’t even there. They changed my last admission saying it was for mental problems after being there 24 hours.The Intestinal team directly admitted me!!! Upon receiving my paper records half my hospital stays after my botched surgery are missing and the doctors comments have been deleted. Now I’m left to die due to the dangerous chemo drugs they gave to “help my Crohn’s.” They basically forced me to take them bc you can’t refuse anything they want to do. It caused me cancer and everything else. It’s hard enough coping with severe Crohn’s disease and 13 major surgeries. Half wouldve never happened if they were operating in a sterile environment and didn’t allow people to practice on you without your approval. I cannot get a attorney to represent me, even though I have mounds of evidence. There is no justice for medical malpractice anymore. This place is a murderous hell full of cover-ups and liars. There is nowhere for me to turn bc all of these facilities are now connected. I know attorneys are getting paid by Cleveland to NOT represent Cleveland Clinic patients. Within a week of speaking to several attorneys in depth, ALL my records were falsified and edited. Everything, not just the botched surgery. BTW, they can see every time you log onto your mychart, what you review, and any time you screenshot. It’s a total scam. If you have Medicare/Medicaide don’t bother calling them to complain bc they are all working together now. They have implemented policies with Cleveland Clinic bc they were going to sue them several years ago for millions due to their improper billing. NOW they purposely withhold dangerous diagnosis, and don’t hospitalize you to save
Medicare/Medicaide money. I figured all of this out after doctors kept saying “we see you don’t feel well, but we can’t admit you due to policies.” After doing research I found all the info on the lawsuit and policies. So they basically let you die and withhold serious diagnosis to save MCM money. If you’re from Ohio then you need to go out of state or you’re going to end up like me, suffering and possibly dead. I realise anything can happen with surgery, but these mistakes were definitely surgeon error, and practice for doctors who get their education in a foreign country!!! That’s complete bull all in itself. Just move out of this craptastic state bc there isn’t a facility here I’d trust with a beloved pet of mine, no joke. Don’t bother with PA facilities either, or anyone affiliated with Mercy Health, they are actually worse. Best wishes y’all ❤.

Thank you for sharing! WOW, very similar as to what I’ve gone through. I appreciate your insight & think you are definitely right about them paying Cleveland law firms. It all sounds so crazy but true, it seriously should all be made into a movie. I don’t even tell my loved ones things that have happened anymore because I feel that there is no way anyone would understand & it all just sounds nuts! Unless you experienced it firsthand there is no way anyone would believe a renowned hospital treat patients this way. The CCF has literally ruined my life. At least we know we’re not alone! I will pray for you & all other victims of these sociopaths. 🙏🏻

The Cleveland Clinic in Dover, Ohio is “in transition” haven’t got a clue about ANY prodecal whatsoever. AND DONT CARE.
Thank you for enlightening me. I use the Clinic for many reasons and have been treated well. I wouldn’t take my Yorkie to Dover.

Cleveland clinic charges made $35 for specialist for copay my copay is $25 whenever I got a bill from them they send it to collections they will not send a bill to my house I haven’t got one yet I’m just leaving Cleveland clinic for good and I’m going to Metro or someplace like that

I’ve always been leery about going to the Cleveland clinic because I feel like they are a bunch of lazy doctors and nurses lazy staff who do whatever they can to make it look like they’re actually doing anything and then bill the crap out of your insurance I had an experience very recently back in October where they give me the wrong discharge papers someone else’s discharge papers and then I end end a send me another copy of my discharge papers and there’s an anti-biotics list it on there but no diagnosis what the hell was the anti-biotics for them without a diagnosis

Cleveland Clinic Foundation Ombudsman. It is a JOKE, A CRYING SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is just a political appointment to keep the veneer of ethics and due diligence. A famous MIT professor once remarked ” sociopaths all the way to the top” about the major leadership in a corporate or academic setting. That have never been more true than in the case of CCF, especially with its prior CEO. Too many issues to write about here in length! Go to any hospital than the CCF!!!

If anyone has peripheral neuropathy, do not go to Cleveland Clinic as pain management sucks downtown and is actually ok in akron/kent area but you should see a specialist who does surgery on that area of the body (if they exist) like Northwestern for Meralgia Paresthetica or Dr. Hibner for Pudendal Neuralgia. A plastic surgeon with extra training is usually the goto doctor for these issues. I have a ton of experience with this as all my nerves are inflammed everywhere so I get frequent nerve pain. Please do your research on google (not yahoo or bing or ….) and read the pubmed articles to find out how to get a proper diagnosis and see someone who can actually help you! Thanks everyone for sharing your experience on this board.

Cleveland clinic went from the best to the worst. My chart is the biggest joke on the planet except if you need the doctor you have always used. We are changing all our doctors who use Cleveland clinic. You can’t call and make an appointment to save your life. There is no help that is any good. It’s their way or the highway.

Cleveland Clinic is billing its customers for outpatient hospital visits instead of regular office visits. They are stating they can do this because it is a hospital facility. Therefore, if you have a regular annual doctors’ appointment, your bill may be higher than your standard co-pay. They will charge you the co-pay when you are on site, but later on, you will receive another bill. Talking to them is like talking to a wall, and they just keep telling you the bill is accurate and they can bill this way. So, in addition to paying for insurance and seeing doctors on your plan that are supposed to be co-pays, we now get to pay additional fees due to the doctors being located on or near the hospital. Not to mention so many doctors have left the hospital since it has been taken over by Cleveland Clinic.

MBA maximize profits by applying all codes possible to all interactions. It is bad, but they have a lot of people that don’t pay for care, so you have that as well. Overall, would be better to get more complete itemized bills so you could be more confident that you aren’t getting screwed over. And Insurance companies are not helping the situation. I feel like Medicare is better than my private insurance in many ways, which is ridiculous considering older people routinely cost more to insure.

My 8month old my chart was given to a another individual and they told me to speak to the ombudsman I’ve been calling for 2 weeks with no call back. I think ima need a lawyer.
